Help a Disabled U.S. Army Veteran Build His Retirement Home in Belize
Short Summary
My name is Reymundo. I’m a Belizean‑American and a retired U.S. Army veteran who served 20 years and is now 100% VA Permanent & Total. I worked hard to buy my own land in Belize, but I need help building a small concrete home so I can retire at 62. The estimated cost is $75,000, which is more than I can cover alone on a fixed income. I’m not trying to take advantage — just asking for help with the one part I can’t reach on my own.
My Story
I was born in Belize and later became a Belizean‑American, serving proudly in the U.S. Army for 20 years. After retiring, I was rated 100% VA Permanent & Total due to service‑connected disabilities. Even with that, I’ve always taken pride in standing on my own two feet and providing for myself.
When my parents passed away, I was left out of their property and had to start over from nothing. I worked, saved, and eventually bought my own piece of land in Belize — the place I’ve always hoped to return to. Today, I hold the title to that land, but I still need a home to live in.
I’m 60 years old and hope to retire at 62. Building even a small, modest home is far beyond what I can afford on my fixed income. A simple 26’×32’ concrete house — nothing fancy, just safe and stable — is estimated to cost about $75,000. Covering that amount alone would mean working many more years, which is difficult given my disability and age.
I don’t want this request to make me seem greedy or like I’m trying to take advantage of anyone. I’ve always handled my responsibilities, and I’m grateful for the benefits I earned through service. This is simply the one part of my retirement dream that I can’t reach alone.
Why I’m Asking for Help
This home represents stability, dignity, and the chance to return to the country where my life began. I’ve done everything I can on my own — bought the land, planned the build, and prepared for retirement — but the construction cost is beyond what my fixed income can cover.
Any support, even sharing this page, brings me closer to finally having a safe place to call home in Belize.

Closing Message
Thank you for taking a moment to read my story. I’ve always tried to handle life on my own, and asking for help is not something I do lightly. I’m simply trying to finish this last chapter with some peace and stability. Life is short, and as the years go by, I’ve learned how important it is to spend whatever time we have left in a place that feels like home.
